Маркете Иргловой во время съёмок было 18 лет. Она родилась в Чехии (Валашские Мезиржичи) в 1988 году. Играет на фортепьяно с семи лет, на гитаре - с девяти. Её первый альбом (Swell Season, 2006) был записан с Гленом Хансардом, с которым Маркета знакома с тринадцати лет.
Глен Хансард - автор-исполнитель ирландской рок-группы The Frames. The Frames создали молодые музыканты - исполнители главных ролей в фильме Алана Паркера The Commitments (1991, сценаристы - Dick Clement, Ian La Frenais, Roddy Doyle, актёры - Robert Arkins, Andrew Strong, Bronagh Gallagher, Angeline Ball, Maria Doyle Kennedy). Глен Хэнсард сыграл гитариста. А картина была о том, как молодые парни с дублинских окраин решили создать свой биг-бэнд в стиле "соул" и что из этого вышло. В фильме звучала хорошая музыка и песни. На фестивале независимого кино Sundance «Однажды» получил премию «Зрительских симпатий» (Audience Award) как лучший фильм в номинации драматургии.
